News

Danny made it home from Boise with the subaru. He said it was kind of boring. Now that's my kind of trip! He is going on a scout winter camp next weekend. Is there winter in Seattle?

Is everyone enjoying the Olympics? Apparently the mountain area where the ski competitions take place is a disaster because of warm weather and rain. What a winter! Dennis is in Mississippi. It's snowing. We are enjoying watching the ice skating. I loved the women's mogul competition.

Alex goes to Thailand on Friday. It will be an intense trip. He is trying to promote BYU study abroad programs to educators from all over the world. He will be staying in an inexpensive hotel (nice) while they stay in a fancy tourist one. He knows Thailand.

Tommy is busy. He has a part time job and is interviewing for several full time jobs.

Tyler and Dawn are busy with the girls and work. Lilah smiles and laughs all the time, unless she is hungry or sleepy. She's a lot of fun. Laurel calls Dennis "Pop" and adores him. She loves to be outside.

I am officially sick of winter. Anyone would be living here. But I'm not done with my projects, so I'll keep on with them. Tommy sat on the deck the other day in the sun. It was still cold, but not terrible. The sun in Mexico was so nice.

Travis and Agata are busy with school. They went to a Polish Restaurant for Agata's name day. Soon it will be her birthday!

30 Miles for 30 Years

Hey all,

I had an AWESOME birthday party yesterday! The 30 mile run around Seattle went perfectly. The weather was 57 degrees and sunny, with beautiful views the whole time. Jenni arranged for Aaron Kennard to show up unexpectedly and run with me. That was an amazing surprise. I had lots of support from friends and it was a great experience. Check out a few pictures I've posted to my facebook page.

Dad and I are off to Tulum, Mexico on Monday. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time. I have officially nested here to wait out winter. I have endless house projects before the garden needs me. I'm sure we will have a great time, though. I have to say, though, I love being where I am at and it's hard to leave the family I'm with, but after I start travelling, I like it.

I miss seeing all of you who live far away. I can't wait until we are together again. Travis says he is very busy. I'm sure Agata is busy getting ready for her research in France and teaching of the U of W. Danny and Jenni are always busy and having fun. Jenni is involved in a bake sale to raise money for Haitian relief. Ollie was sick for a few days, but is feeling better. I can just imagine the smiles Milo is giving everyone. Jak love to ride his new bike.

Alex and Brynna visited us last weekend. We enjoyed them a lot. Rilee and Tommy have made some decisions about their wedding. Do you remember the Fort Douglas Historic Theater? You may want to talk to them. It's going to be a lot of fun. Rilee is busy with the International Development Club. She has a banquet this weekend at the Springville Art Museum. Tommy is looking for a job and doing some contract work.

Tyler and Dawn are busy working. Dawn is covering for her boss, Kerry, who is going on maternity leave. I'm sure Dawn will do a great job managing the store. I think she will like not working in the cafe for a while. Laurel has turned into a world-class sleeper. She loves her nap time. Lilah eats and eats, smiles and sleeps. Laurel loves books.

Take care while we are gone. We will have phones in Mexican (cell-same numbers) Call us if you need to. We'll call back when we aren't wet or sandy.

Happy New Year

Thanks for a wonderful Christmas! I enjoyed it so much. We played games, ate delicious cheese, watched Corner Gas (sorry Rilee), ate and ate. Thanks everyone for making an extraordinary effort to be here. The big news is that Rilee and Tommy are officially engaged. Congratulations! The ring is beautiful. Also, Danny and Jenni bought a beautiful new vehicle. Their ride home went smoothly. Danny's feet have adjusted to barefoot running and he is loving it. Alex is going to Thailand in February. Agata comes home to Seattle tomorrow. Tyler and Dawn are adjusting to having Dawn work. So far, so good. They miss seeing each other, though. The Christmas party at their house was so much fun. Tommy is at home in Utah updating his computer skills and making a website to apply for jobs. Rilee is back at BYU starting one of the busiest semesters of her life. Alex's friend, Brynna is back. Alex must be very busy preparing to leave for a week in February.

Dennis and I are home putting away Christmas stuff. It's a comfort to know that the days will begin to get longer. Soon it will be fun to be outside. Ollie fed the bunny and played in the sandbox while he was here. He didn't seem to mind the cold. Laurel always wants to go outside.

We love you and miss you! I'll never forget Danny laughing on the phone after his car quit for the second time on his trip. It was a great trial, but they came through it, cheerful at the end. We know you all face challenges and hope you can meet them with faith and courage.

I finished War and Peace. It was completely worth reading. I was puzzled by the ending, but now I am stunned by it. I think it's a book about men becoming men. Very unusual.

Christmas plans

Here is our official Christmas schedule (as far as we know). We figured we'd post it here so people can plan accordingly. We want to see you all as often as possible so hopefully this works. Let us know if we are missing anything. IMPORTANT: Sunday afternoon around 5 everyone is invited to the Christensens for dinner and Milo's blessing. We hope everyone can come!

SLEEPING AT CURRITS Dec 24-Dec 28:
Thursday Dec 24--arrive around dinnertime for Christmas eve festivities.
Dec 25--wake up at 6:30 am (not our choice) and run around the house waking everyone else up to open presents. Sometime we'll go over to Christensens for lunch or dinner. Be back before bedtime (7:30 pm).
Dec 26 Hang with Currits
Dec 27 Church 9 at Christensens--be there all day to help prepare for dinner. Bless Milo at the Christensen house around 5:00 and have light dinner--EVERYONE invited of course.
Dec 28 Happy Birthday Dennis! Move to Christensens sometime in afternoon maybe just before dinner. i.e. 3:30??

Fill the blender half-way with washed spinach leaves.
Add 1/2 cup Yogurt
some berries
enough water to make it mix

Congratulations, Agata, on passing your Ph.d. exams. I know you worked hard to prepare. I would like to know more details. I imagine that the rest of your work will be pleasant and relatively stress-free. That's what I'm hoping. We are so proud of you and grateful that this step is successively over. Gift Exchange

Thanksgiving was so much fun! I hope everyone feels better soon. That cold was powerful. Dawn has pneumonia. I'm supposed to help her for a few hours today, but I finally have the cold (not too serious yet.)

I'm thinking that the names I drew for Dawn and Tyler start with an "A" and an "R". Anyone want to challenge that? Let me know. I think that's right.

Good luck in the next three weeks in wrapping up all of your studies and all of your presents. Being together is the best present.

Lilah

I learned today that Lilah has an "h" on the end of her name. I didn't know this, but I have often thought that I wished they had spelled it Lilah. How did this communication not come about? Who knows. When I was a little girl I remember standing by the telephone pole in front of our house on Seventh East and making three promises to myself: someday I would live in the mountains like Heidi, someday I would go to the place cowboys were from from, and someday I would go to where the pioneers went. After a few years all of my wishes came true.

All of you were going to be named Susannah with an "h" on the end. I like that H.

Thanksgiving

I heard a rumor recently that some Currits will be venturing up from Utah for a thanksgiving in Brisky Canyon. I just wanted to say that I think this is wonderful news and it will be very awesome to see you all. I look forward to some muddy football and late night hot-tubbing. And by late night I mean 9:00, so don't even think about trying to get me to stay up later.

Hello Strangers!!

I miss the blog! But more importantly, I miss you all! Boulder is going splendidly. I actually haven't seen too much of it, as I work the hours of a young soccer ball sower in a 3rd world country. The agency I am at is cool. It has been ranked the top agency in the world two years running now, and was in some big magazines top ten internships in any field, so its a blessing to be here. They are known for working beginners to death and paying them next to nothing, so thats not too great. So, a few of the clients they have here: GAP, Old Navy, Burger King, Domino's, Mircrosoft, VW, American Express, Coke Zero, and some smaller ones. I have mainly been working on Old Navy and Domino's (look for their new campaign coming out soon, its actually pretty cool...). Its fun, most of the time.

So, I can't wait for Thanksgiving, and Christmas is right around the corner! We should start telling everyone our Christmas plans, and then try to plan a few special things when everyone will be in town, like an Indian food night ant Royal India, perchance... I think this will be the first Christmas with everyone in town we have had for a long while, right? And are we doing names? Or just gifts for everyone? Names sounds like a good idea right now, as there are a lot of people to get gifts for these day... Maybe just grownups draw names, and we all get the kids something? What say ye, masses?
