Travis

Don't you love this photo?

ALMOST EASTER

Hi Family,  as you have undoubtedly noticed, it is almost Easter.  Today was warm and tonight is cool.  It feels like spring.  Monday a big bag of black soil will be delivered.  Hopefully it won't snow again.  But you never know...

We had Danny and Jenni and the boys here last Sunday. Ty and Dawn and the girls came.  Rilee and Tommy were in California for Jimmy Pardi's wedding.  Alex was in Jordan and Brynna was visiting her grandparents in California.  Just after we finished dinner, Aunt Von dropped by.  She was in town with Dave and Jan Coombs.  It was good to see her.  She updated us on all her kids.  Michael and Heather and their four boys are living with her temporarily.  Jesse and Ben have three little girls and live in Calgary.  Joseph is back together with his wife and financially doing well in Vancouver.  Mandy's husband is studying to be a nurse.  David Gunderson is an army dentist.  It was good to see her.  She looked great.  She's a survivor.  Laurry and Jocelyn pre-sell all the organic beef they can raise.  They have remodeled the house.

Danny and Jenni were here for Jenni's brother Michael's wedding.  He married a girl he has known since junior high.  Yup, she went to Alta.  They look like they will be very happy together.  It was a short visit, but it was so fun to see Danny and Jenni and the boys.  The boys and I get to spend some time together in April.  I'm wondering whether to take my kindle fire to Seattle.  I wonder if it will cause more problems than solve them.  The boys liked playing games on it.  I'll probably take it.    We skyped with Travis.  I think Danny and Jenni are very excited about their trip to Poland.  Next year I'm hoping I can go again.

Tyler and Dawn are about half moved to their new house.  We hope to take a big load on Saturday.  They are looking forward to settling in there.  Dennis said when he and Ty took a load yesterday, that the park across the street was full of moms and kids.  Thanks to everyone who has helped with this move.  It isn't easy with a baby, although she's just about the mellowest child there ever was.  She just wants to be held.  I think that's her way of being part of everything that happens.

I could update you on the saga of the bathroom.  But that would be boring.  It's coming along.  Nicely.  We would like to be done.

I saw my friend Khali yesterday.  We spent all afternoon in an antique shop in Provo having a great time.  The owner has a private gallery upstairs that's only opened to special customers and friends.  He let us in.  I was drawn to a large watercolor.  The colors were so beautiful and the ink drawings so magical.  It was Salvatore Dali!  He has famous artists' works and local artists and some lesser known artists from Europe and Russia.  I fell in love with a procelain mirror with cherubs and a blue bird (it would look nice in the bathroom.)  I asked him how much was the "over-the-top mirror"?  (some things were affordable.)  Apparently it was a porcelain work by a famous artist and cost $8,000.  So sad.   I didn't even ask how much the Dali was.

Here's hoping Alex survives Jordan.  What is it like there?

Keep in touch.  We miss you all.

Love, Mom

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGATA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGATA!

THIS WEEKEND IS AGATA's BIRTHDAY.  WE WISH HER A WONDERFUL DAY AND A WONDERFUL YEAR.  I WISH WE COULD BE THERE TO CELEBRATE WITH HER.
HOPEFULLY TRAVIS HAS FUN PLANS FOR THIS WEEKEND.  SOMETHING INVOLVING SUNSHINE AND FLOWERS.  AND MAYBE ITALIAN FOOD.

Well, the big news from home is that maybe soon nobody will live in the Salt Lake Valley but us!  Tyler and Dawn have rented a home in Kaysville on a half acre with a sweet front porch.  They weighed all their options and decided that moving close to Ty's new restaurant was the best choice..  Also Laurel will be going to a good school about a block away.  This is a big change for them and it does involve central air conditioning.  They have had good neighbors and fun times where they currently live.  That's a blessing, but it makes it hard to leave.  We look forward to visiting them and rocking on that porch.

I don't know what Rilee and Tommy are up to.  I should find out tomorrow.  Alex and Brynna are planning a visit to Ithaca, New York to check out Cornell.  Brynna is also going to California soon.  Alex is going to New Orleans and Jordan.  Danny and Jenni are going to Poland and Paris.  Dennis and I are going to Seattle in April to tend for them.  Travis starts his new job soon.

I have no idea what the summer will bring.  It's hard to equal last summer's adventures.  I do want to go back to Poland.

Keep in touch or we'll have to make up news about you.

Love, Mom
