HI FAMILY: Here's the news as I know (or can remember).

Alex and Brynna are moving to New York.  Dennis and Alex leave on Wednesday, early early, I imagine.  I think Dennis will drive to Provo and they will go through Provo Canyon.  They hope to make it to Uncle Rich's in Cheyenne for dinner and to Nebraska to a KOA for bedtime.  Ambitious.  I will fly to Syracuse Saturday, and, with any luck, will take the shuttle to a wonderful hotel I found and enjoy a quiet night OR Alex and Dennis will arrive at the airport and take me to Ithaca to Alex's new apartment.  Win win.  Brynna and her Mom and sister will arrive the following Wednesday.  Meanwhile, Dennis and I leave on a Mormon Church History tour through Western New York, Kirtland, Ohio and Nauvoo Illinois.  I don't know if I would ever see these places otherwise.  I have some great books on cd to listen to the rest of the trip.  We hope to make it to Ogalalla, Nebraska for our final stop.

I returned recently from a visit in Seattle.  It was so much fun to spend time with Danny and Jenni and boys.  The boys are as cute as ever.  What an adventure summer is for them.  We went to the zoo and saw wolves, jaguar babies, penguins and cockatiels.  I sailed for the first time, in a race and regatta on the Sound.  Amazing and scary experience which I would happily repeat.  We explored Whitby Island and Deception Point and saw the end of Danny's Ragnar Race.  Jenni gave me piano lessons which I treasure.  I need some instruction.  I understand chords better, keys, and blues and accompanying.  She is a great teacher.  I hope to continue learning from her.

Danny and Jenni are going camping with friends on the Olympic Peninsula this week.  Then they are coming to Utah for a visit.  Jenni and the boys are driving down a week before Danny.  Jenni plans on taking piano lessons from her mentor in Draper.  Hopefully I can help her with the boys a bit.  We are going to meet them at the Christensen cabin in Bear Lake the third weekend in August.

Travis just finished a long bike ride in the Polish country side.  He really enjoyed it but experienced a bit of sunstroke, which is unpleasant and serious.  If I were there I would  buy him an awesome helmet to protect his head from the sun.  Why doesn't  Amazon deliver to Poland?  Agata is now a licensed Polish driver.  What driving experience she could get on our long car trip!  Travis has been working long hours.  His contract with the game company has been renewed.  I think it has been quite an experience.  But busy.  Barbara has a full house: her sister is living with her temporarily, and her father.  We hope Grandpa is feeling better.  Agata was there to visit.  We hope both Agata and Travis can come at Christmas time.  No visa news yet.

Rilee is going to New York this next weekend, too.  New York City for a conference....then she flies to Pensacola, Florida to meet Tommy and visit with her brother, Cameron, and his new wife for a week.  They will play on the whitest sand beaches in the world.  All I can say is: eat rock shrimp.  It is wonderful.  Rilee also interviewed for a job in San Francisco.  She has had three contacts with the company so far. 

Tyler and Dawn are enjoying their neighborhood in Kaysville.  Who knew Kaysville was so friendly and fun?  I think Dennis and I could happily live there.  Tyler's restaurant was on the morning news today, with Trevor Price playing his guitar.  Tyler has been having performers on his patio each Saturday night, in spite of the few weeks of thunderstorms.  We enjoyed helping him with a restaurant fair at a park in Layton on the 24th of July.  Dawn and the girls came.  It was a lot of holiday fun.  Laurel starts kindergarten this August.

We will really miss having Alex and Brynna here.  We have been so lucky to have kids at BYU and to live so close to school.  We have loved it!  This will be a great adventure for them.  

So who has kids living in Seattle, western New York, and Poland?????  Kind of crazy.  We need to revive the blog.  What other methods work to stay in touch?  Instagram?  Twitter?  Text?  Let me know.  Skype which is now Googlechat (?)?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALEX!

Happy Birthday tomorrow, July 10, to Alex.  He doesn't think anyone ever remembers his birthday.  What is not memorable about July 10, 1987?????   He and Brynna are busy getting ready to move to New York and are very aware that it's far away from here.  Now who has a son and family living in SEATTLE  and POLAND and NEW YORK???  That just doesn't happen. 

Anyway, July is a good month.  First there is the 4th of July.  Remember the parties at Kaslikowski's?  And the street fireworks?  Now we've driven to the Shakespeare Festival two years in a row.  This year we saw "Peter and the Star Catcher".  We agree it was fun, well done and delightful (if you like pirates). 

Then there is Laurel's birthday.  Thanks for being the first Currit girl in our family!  She is a loving, fun, gentle, beautiful child and we love her.  She also starts kindergarten this year.  Happy Birthday, Laurel!

And tomorrow it's Alex's birthday!  Which was always celebrated while OFF-TRACK.  (We learned to love July, didn't we?)  I remember when Tyler said that he (Alex) had all the life and energy of three people packed into one person.  I'll never forget when he was ten months old and toddled up the dirt path to Sister Lloyds' house.  She called me screaming, "he was just born!  He can't walk!"  Oh, but he could.

Happy July Birthdays!  We do remember and we love you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAUREL!

Happy Birthday today to Laurel who is five years old.  She has a great party planned for Friday at noon.  There will be a bouncy house, friends, cake, hot dogs and hamburgers.  I'm predicting good weather, maybe a little hot.  Happy birthday, Laurel!
